CHRIS HAAKON

Mr. Haakon was a Program Director for Geospatial Initiatives for the General Dynamics line of business. He retired from General Dynamics to become a full-time consultant for numerous companies including General Dynamics.

Prior to work with General Dynamics, Mr. Haakon served as the General Manager of Boeing-Autometric through August 2002. At the time of acquisition by The Boeing Company in September 2000, he was the CEO of Autometric. He provided the strategic vision and executive direction and leadership for Autometric, Inc. Mr. Haakon focused on maintaining and strengthening strategic partnerships in industry, government and across Boeing operations. Autometric provided leading-edge services and applications to federal and commercial clients, specializing in data visualization and animation, modeling and simulation systems, image processing and analysis, geospatial data management products, systems engineering and integration. He supported a major procurement as the Business Executive for Transformation. He started work for Autometric in 1963 as an image analyst and worked his way to CEO in 1997.  

Mr. Haakon has over 40 years of experience in industry focusing in profit center management and top-level corporate responsibility. His operational and technical background has included imagery training, requirements analysis, and research in multisensor imagery. Mr. Haakon is a retired Navy Reserve Captain where he held four command tours, culminating in his service as Reserve Intelligence Area Commander, Area Nineteen, Washington, DC, responsible for 20 subordinate reserve units and 950 officers and enlisted members. Mr. Haakon is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Defense Intelligence College Foundation, Chairman of the AFCEA Intelligence Committee, a member of the National Correlation Working Group Board of Directors, past Advisor to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Transformation Advisory Group, serves on the Board of Directors to three fast growing companies and Board of Advisors on four other companies. He has served as a director on numerous associations, commissions and foundations over the past forty years.
